Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with bipolar I disorder as your main condition.
- You have had at least one manic episode in the past that needed medical treatment.
- You are currently going through a manic episode (with or without mixed or psychotic symptoms) at the time of the trial.
Who may not be able to join:
- You have an unstable or poorly managed ongoing health condition affecting the brain, liver, kidneys, heart, digestive system, lungs, immune system, or hormones that could interfere with the study.
- You have been diagnosed with a cancer in the 90 days before the screening period begins.
- Your main diagnosis is something other than bipolar I disorder.
- You have previously been treated with a medication called clozapine for a type of psychosis that did not respond to other treatments.
- You have been continuously hospitalised for mental health reasons for 30 days or more during the 90 days before screening begins.
