- People who have difficulty following two-step instructions and do not have a caregiver available to help them participate
- People who are already taking part in a similar rehabilitation or exercise program for spinal fractures, led by a physical therapist, exercise physiologist, or kinesiologist
- People who have surgery planned or a health condition that is likely to cause significant changes to their health within the next 3 months
