Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults between 18 and 65 years old.
- People with a body mass index (BMI) of 35 or higher, or a BMI of 30 or higher combined with a weight-related health condition such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnea, or fatty liver disease.

- People with severe medical or mental health conditions that are not well controlled and that may make it difficult to follow the trial's requirements.
- People with a condition called short bowel syndrome, those who have previously had a large portion of their bowel surgically removed, or those found during surgery to have extensive internal scarring or tissue bands in the bowel area.
