Who might be able to join this trial:

• You have been diagnosed with a widespread lung condition affecting the tissue and space around the air sacs (called diffuse interstitial lung disease)
• After standard tests, a tissue sample (biopsy) is still needed to help with your diagnosis
• A specialist medical team has reviewed your case and agreed that a biopsy is appropriate for you
• You are covered by French social security (healthcare system)
• You are willing and able to give written consent to take part

Who may not be able to join:

• You have a medical reason why you cannot safely have a surgical lung biopsy
• You have a condition that affects your blood's ability to clot properly
• You have other serious health conditions that could make the procedure unsafe
• You currently rely on oxygen therapy at home on a long-term basis
• Your lung function tests show your lungs are working below certain minimum levels (confirm with trial site)
• Your body mass index (a measure of weight relative to height) is above 35
• You have high blood pressure in the arteries supplying your lungs (confirm with trial site)
• You have a known allergy to anaesthetic medicines used during procedures
• You are pregnant, under 18, or a legally protected adult
• If you are a woman who has not yet gone through menopause, a pregnancy test will be required before joining
