Who might be able to join this trial:
For people living with HIV (called "index cases"):
- You are 18 years old or older
- You have a confirmed HIV diagnosis
- You are visiting a health facility for your regular HIV care
For Study 3 specifically, you also need to meet these additional conditions:
- You have been on HIV treatment (antiretroviral therapy) for less than 6 months
- Your HIV virus levels are not yet under control
- Your immune cell count (CD4) is above 350
- Your chest X-ray shows possible signs of TB
- You currently have no fever or cough, confirmed through symptom checks
For close contacts of index cases:
- Any close contact (household or community) can be invited to join, regardless of age or HIV status
Who may not be able to join:
For people living with HIV (index cases):
- You have received treatment for TB in the past 12 months
- You are currently pregnant
- You are not willing to give consent for the study procedures
- You have a medical reason why you cannot have the blood or other samples the study requires (confirm with trial site)
For close contacts:
- You are planning to move away from the area within the next 12 months
- You are currently pregnant
- You are currently taking TB treatment or TB preventive medication
- You were already found to have TB at the start of the study
