Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are 18 years of age or older
  • You have been diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) — a type of lung scarring disease — at any stage of severity, based on the most recent international guidelines from 2022

Who may not be able to join:

  • You do not wish to take part in the study
  • You are not able to give your own consent to participate in the study
  • You have had a sudden worsening (flare-up) of your IPF in the 6 months before joining the trial
  • You have previously been diagnosed with a long-term airway condition such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), or bronchiectasis (unless the bronchiectasis is caused by IPF itself)
  • Your breathing tests show a specific type of airflow blockage in your lungs (confirm with trial site)
  • You are currently taking long-acting inhaler medicines to open your airways, or a combination inhaler containing both an airway-opener and a steroid
  • You are not able to reliably complete standard breathing/lung function tests
  • You are currently taking steroid tablets or capsules (such as prednisone) or medicines that suppress your immune system on a long-term basis
  • You have been diagnosed with cancer in your lungs or the lining around your lungs
  • You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
