Who might be able to join this trial:

• People aged 18 to 80 years old
• People diagnosed with a specific type of head and neck cancer (squamous cell carcinoma) that has not spread to other parts of the body, originating in areas such as the mouth, throat, voice box, or nasal passages

• People whose first treatment is not scheduled to start within the next 3 weeks at the time they are recruited into the study
• People who speak English or Spanish

Who may not be able to join:

• People whose cancer has spread (metastasised) to other parts of the body
• People who are unable to complete the initial assessments or begin the pre-treatment program before their radiation or chemoradiation treatment starts
• People for whom a doctor has determined that changes to diet or physical exercise would be unsafe
• People who do not speak English or Spanish
• People with a history of dementia or a major psychiatric condition that could interfere with taking part in the study
• People who have had a stroke, heart attack, or heart failure within the past year
• People whose overall physical functioning is assessed by their medical team as significantly limited (confirm with trial site regarding the specific scoring scale used)
