Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are between 18 and 45 years old
  • You have been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) but do NOT have bipolar disorder (both checked using a structured clinical interview)
  • You have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder but do NOT have Borderline Personality Disorder (both checked using a structured clinical interview)
  • You have no psychiatric disorders and are in good mental health (confirmed using a structured clinical interview), if participating as a healthy comparison volunteer

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have a psychotic disorder (such as schizophrenia), confirmed by a structured clinical interview
  • You are not willing or able to give informed consent to take part
  • You are not registered with the French social security system
  • You are currently under a court order, administrative confinement, or involuntary hospital admission
  • You are legally protected, for example under guardianship or similar legal arrangements
  • You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You are unable to understand, speak, or write in French
  • You are unable to understand the purpose or methods of the study
  • You are currently in an exclusion period from another research study
  • You have already received more than €6,000 in payments from research studies in the past year
  • If you have bipolar disorder (without BPD): you are currently experiencing a moderate or severe depressive episode, or a hypomanic or manic episode, as measured by specific clinical rating scales (confirm with trial site)
