Who might be able to join this trial:

• You have been diagnosed with a type of lung cancer called non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), confirmed by a lab test on a tissue or cell sample
• Your lung cancer has a specific gene change (mutation) in the EGFR gene — either an "exon 19 deletion" or an "exon 21 L858R mutation" (confirm with trial site if unsure which type you have)
• Your cancer has spread to the fluid surrounding your brain and spinal cord (called leptomeningeal metastasis), confirmed by a spinal fluid test done within 28 days before starting the trial, and there is at least one affected area that can be monitored by MRI scans
• Your cancer got worse after being treated with a first type of targeted therapy drug (called a tyrosine kinase inhibitor or TKI)
• You are between 18 and 85 years old (any gender)
• Your blood counts, liver, and kidney are working well enough, as shown by standard blood tests (the trial team will check these specific levels)
• If you are taking part in the drug absorption/processing part of the study: you have never previously been treated with a specific drug called furmonertinib
• You are willing to follow the treatment plan, take medications as directed, and have signed a consent form agreeing to take part

Who may not be able to join:

• You are unable to fill in the required health questionnaires at the start of the trial
• You have a serious or uncontrolled illness alongside your cancer, such as an active infection, abnormal blood salt levels, or a bleeding problem
• You are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant during the study or within 6 months after it ends
• You have a brain complication that needs urgent brain surgery
• You currently have, or have previously had, another type of cancer
• You have a serious brain condition or mental illness that would prevent you from reporting your own symptoms
• You do not have the legal ability to make your own decisions, or there are medical or ethical reasons that would make continuing the study inappropriate
• The trial doctors decide for any other reason that the trial is not right for you
• You have a history of severe allergies, particularly if you had a serious allergic or adverse reaction to a TKI (targeted therapy) drug in the past
