Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are 18 years old or older (male or female)
  • You have been diagnosed with skin melanoma at any stage (Stage I, II, or III) before having surgery
  • After surgery to remove the melanoma with clear margins, the wound left behind is too large to be closed in a straightforward way

Who may not be able to join:

  • Your lymph nodes (the small glands that help fight infection) show signs of cancer, either found under a microscope or visibly, after a sentinel lymph node removal procedure
  • Scans (such as ultrasound, CT scan, or PET-CT) have shown that the melanoma has spread to other parts of the body
  • There is a medical reason why a specific type of reconstructive surgery (using nearby tissue with its own blood supply) cannot be safely performed for you (confirm with trial site)
  • You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You do not have health insurance coverage
  • You are someone who is in prison, under legal guardianship, or under a legal protection arrangement due to reduced ability to make decisions for yourself
