You are 18 years of age or older
Your body weight falls into the category classified as obese (a BMI of 30 or higher)

You are pregnant

Your abdomen has been left open after surgery
You have already taken part in this study before
Your medical team has identified any other reason why a balloon placed in your food pipe (esophagus) would not be safe for you
