Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have a goitre (enlarged thyroid gland) that is pressing on nearby structures such as the windpipe or food pipe, causing or at risk of causing symptoms
- People who are not suitable for surgery or other ablative (tissue-destroying) treatments, or who prefer the procedure being studied over those other options
- People whose thyroid imaging results fall into a lower-risk category on a standard scoring system called TI-RADS (categories 1, 2, 3, or 4) (confirm with trial site)
- People whose thyroid biopsy results fall into certain lower-risk categories: either category I or III on two separate biopsies, or category II on one biopsy, using a standard classification system called the Bethesda system (confirm with trial site)
- People who are at least 18 years old
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have other serious health conditions that would make an endovascular procedure (a procedure carried out through the blood vessels) unsafe for them
- People whose thyroid imaging results fall into the highest-risk TI-RADS category (category 5)
- People whose thyroid biopsy results fall into higher-risk Bethesda categories (IV, V, or VI), which may suggest a greater concern for cancer
- People who do not wish to take part in the trial
- People who have severe overactivity of the thyroid gland that is not currently under control
- People under 18 years of age
