Who might be able to join this trial:

• You are aged 18 or older but under 75 years old
• You have been diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)
• Your cancer has gotten worse after standard treatments, or you could not tolerate standard treatments, or no standard treatments are available for you
• You are able to provide 3 to 5 stored tumor tissue samples (slides) from a previous biopsy
• Your NSCLC is a specific type (non-squamous) and has one or more EGFR gene mutations
• You have at least one area of cancer that can be measured on a scan
• You are generally well enough to carry out light activity and care for yourself (a doctor will assess this)
• You are expected to live for at least 12 weeks
• Your blood, liver, kidney, and clotting functions are within acceptable levels based on blood tests (a doctor will check this)
• You are willing and able to use contraception throughout the trial

Who may not be able to join:

• You received other cancer treatments such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiotherapy, or biological therapy within the 4 weeks before joining
• You took part in another clinical trial or used an experimental treatment or device within 4 weeks before joining
• You are expected to need other cancer treatments during the study
• You still have significant side effects from previous cancer treatments that have not cleared up (with the exception of hair loss or stable long-term conditions)
• Your cancer has undergone a specific type of change (histological transformation), or certain other gene abnormalities are present that caused resistance to previous targeted therapy (confirm with trial site)
• You have a history of a serious eye condition
• You have a history of a serious skin condition
• You have a gastrointestinal (digestive system) disease
• You have recently taken certain medications that affect how drugs are processed in the body, specifically P-gp inhibitors or strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (confirm with trial site)
• You have uncontrolled fluid build-up around the lungs, abdomen, or heart that regularly needs to be drained
• You have brain metastases causing symptoms, cancer spread to the lining of the brain, or compression of the spinal cord
• You have a significant active infection
• You have a known allergy to any ingredient in the trial drug or similar types of drugs
• You have a confirmed immune deficiency disease, or tested positive for HIV
• You have active hepatitis B
• You have tested positive for syphilis with a confirmed positive follow-up test
• You have active tuberculosis
• You have had another type of cancer within the last 5 years (other than the lung cancer being studied)
• You have had a significant stroke or other serious brain blood vessel event within the past 6 months
• You have had major surgery or a serious injury within the past 4 weeks, or are expected to need major surgery during the study
• You have a history of interstitial lung disease (scarring or inflammation of the lungs)
• You have a known bleeding disorder or problem with blood clotting
• You have a known mental health (psychiatric) illness
• You have received a live vaccine (such as certain flu, shingles, or yellow fever vaccines) within 28 days before joining, or plan to receive one during the study or within 60 days after finishing the trial drug
• You are pregnant or currently breastfeeding
• Any other reason that the trial doctor believes would make it unsafe or unsuitable for you to participate
