Who might be able to join this trial:

• People aged between 18 and 70 years, who are male or non-pregnant female
• People whose biopsy results have confirmed a specific type of nasopharyngeal cancer (non-keratinizing carcinoma, also called WHO type II or III)
• People whose cancer is at a locally advanced stage — meaning it has spread to nearby lymph nodes or nearby structures, but has not spread to distant parts of the body
• People who are generally well enough to carry out light activity and care for themselves (measured by a standard fitness scale called ECOG, scored 0 or 1)
• People whose blood counts are within an acceptable range, showing the bone marrow is working well enough (red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets must meet minimum levels)
• People whose liver is functioning well enough, based on blood test results for liver enzymes, bilirubin, and albumin
• People whose kidneys are functioning well enough, based on blood creatinine levels or a calculated kidney clearance rate
• People whose blood clotting test results are within an acceptable range (or within the expected treatment range if already on blood-thinning medication)

Who may not be able to join:

• People whose nasopharyngeal cancer has come back after previous treatment, or has spread to distant parts of the body
• People whose biopsy confirmed a different type of nasopharyngeal cancer (keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma, also called WHO Type I)
• People who have previously received radiotherapy or chemotherapy for any condition
• People who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or of childbearing potential who are not using effective contraception
• People who are HIV-positive
• People who have had another type of cancer in the past, unless it was basal cell skin cancer or early-stage cervical cancer that has been fully treated and cured
• People who have previously been treated with a type of cancer immunotherapy called immune checkpoint inhibitors (such as drugs targeting CTLA-4, PD-1, or PD-L1)
• People with immune system diseases or who have had an organ transplant
• People who have received high-dose steroid medications, certain cancer antibody treatments, or other immune-suppressing treatments within the past 4 weeks
• People with seriously impaired heart, liver, lung, kidney, or bone marrow function
• People who are currently taking part in another clinical trial or taking another experimental medication
• People who are unable or unwilling to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the trial
• People with significant psychiatric conditions, or those who do not have the legal capacity to consent to participation
• People who test positive for Hepatitis B surface antigen and also have a high level of Hepatitis B virus detected in their blood
• People who test positive for Hepatitis C antibodies, unless a follow-up test confirms the virus is not actively present in the blood
• People who have had a blood clot event in the past 6 months — such as a stroke, mini-stroke, brain bleed, deep vein thrombosis, or pulmonary embolism
• People with a known history of active tuberculosis, or in whom active tuberculosis has not been ruled out through appropriate testing
• People with any other serious, uncontrolled medical condition or infection that the trial doctor believes could be made worse by the trial treatment, or could affect the safety or reliability of the trial results (confirm with trial site)
