Who might be able to join this trial:

• People aged between 18 and 40 years old (inclusive)
• People with a BMI of 27 or higher
• People who have been diagnosed with primary (essential) high blood pressure, as defined by NICE guidelines
• People whose blood pressure readings (measured without a clinician present) fall within a specific range — top number 135 or higher and/or bottom number 85 or higher, but below 160/100
• People currently taking no more than one blood pressure medication
• People able to provide written consent to participate

Who may not be able to join:

• People whose high blood pressure is known or suspected to be caused by another underlying medical condition
• People with a known allergy or sensitivity to the study drugs or any of their ingredients
• People currently taking medications that are likely to interact with the study drug tirzepatide
• People who have been diagnosed with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, or who currently use insulin or other injectable diabetes treatments (including GLP-1 or GIP receptor agonists)
• People who have previously had, or are planning to have, surgery, an endoscopic procedure, or a device-based treatment for obesity
• People who have had a significant change in body weight (roughly 10% or more) in the three months before screening, whether intentional or not
• People with known heart failure or significant heart valve disease
• People who have an implanted pacemaker or implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD)
• People with certain heart rhythm conditions, including second or third-degree AV block, sino-atrial block, or sick sinus syndrome
• People with a known active cancer, including thyroid cancer
• People with known kidney impairment above a specific level (creatinine above 150µmol/L)
• People with a clinically significant neurological condition
• People with a history of scleroderma (a connective tissue disease)
• People currently taking blood-thinning (anticoagulant) medications
• People with a known history of pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas)
• People with known inflammatory bowel disease
• People with a history of gallstones, unless the gallbladder has already been surgically removed
• People with severe gastroparesis or other significant problems with stomach emptying
• People with a family history of multiple endocrine neoplasia (a rare hormonal condition)
• People with a needle phobia
• People who are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or currently breastfeeding
• People currently taking part in the active treatment phase of another research study
• People excluded for any other clinical reason at the investigator's discretion
