Who might be able to join this trial:

• People aged 1 year or older, as long as the treating doctor considers them well enough to participate
• People whose cancer cells show a protein called CD19 on at least 20% of the malignant cells, as measured by a specialised lab test called flow cytometry
• People whose blood cancer has come back or has not responded to treatment, with more than 5% abnormal cells in the bone marrow, after having tried at least one initial treatment and at least one further treatment after relapse
• People with a specific type of cancer called Philadelphia chromosome-positive disease must have received a specific class of targeted drug (a second-generation or higher TKI) as part of one of their previous treatment lines
• People who have relapsed at least 100 days after a stem cell transplant from a donor, with no signs of graft-versus-host disease, and who have not been taking immune-suppressing medications for at least 30 days before enrolling
• People whose doctors estimate they have a life expectancy of more than 12 weeks
• People who have a performance score of 60 or above on a standard health and function scale (the Karnofsky or Lansky scale, depending on age) — meaning they are able to carry out some daily activities (confirm with trial site)
• People with cancer that has spread to the brain/spinal fluid or testicles may still be considered, but only if that spread has been treated and cleared, and the cancer is also present in other parts of the body

Who may not be able to join:

• People whose disease is rapidly worsening and is not under control, as assessed by the treating doctor
• People with cancer that has spread to areas outside the bone marrow and has not cleared up
• People whose cancer is only present in the brain/spinal fluid or testicles, with no disease elsewhere in the body
• People who currently have, or have a history of, an autoimmune disease that could affect the brain or nervous system
• People with active hepatitis B, hepatitis C, or HIV infection
• People with serious active brain or nervous system problems, such as uncontrolled seizures, stroke, dementia, or paralysis
• People who have had another cancer diagnosis within the past 3 years, other than certain low-risk skin cancers or very early-stage localised cancers
• People with severe pre-existing lung disease or who require a higher level of supplemental oxygen, or who have an active lung infection
• People whose heart is not pumping efficiently enough, based on a heart ultrasound result below 50%
• People whose kidneys are not filtering well enough, based on a standard kidney function measurement
• People with significantly abnormal liver test results, unless the liver is directly affected by the leukaemia itself (confirm with trial site)
• People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
• People who have recently received certain medications, including chemotherapy, high-dose steroids, targeted cancer drugs called TKIs, specific immune-suppressing drugs, or other experimental treatments, within defined time periods before the collection procedure (confirm with trial site for specific timeframes)
