Who might be able to join this trial:

• You have been diagnosed with a specific type of thyroid cancer called papillary thyroid carcinoma, confirmed by a needle biopsy or tissue sample.
• Your thyroid tumor(s) are each no larger than 2.0 cm (about the size of a small grape) at their widest point.
• Your cancer has not spread outside the thyroid gland, and there is no sign it has reached nearby lymph nodes or other parts of the body.
• Your tumor is located a safe distance (more than 2 mm) away from important nearby structures like the windpipe, food pipe, or major blood vessels — or it can be safely treated using a technique that moves those structures out of the way.
• Your cancer is classified as an early stage (T1b or lower), with no known spread to lymph nodes or distant organs.
• You are either not healthy enough for surgery due to other medical conditions, or you have chosen not to have surgery.
• You are 18 years old or older.
• You are not pregnant at the time of treatment.
• You are able to understand the study information and agree to take part by signing a consent form.

Who may not be able to join:

• There is any sign — on scans or physical examination — that your cancer has spread to lymph nodes or other parts of the body such as the lungs or bones.
• Your tumor has grown beyond the edges of the thyroid gland into surrounding tissue.
• Your tumor has heavy calcium deposits throughout it.
• Your tumor is too close (within 2 mm) to important nearby structures and cannot be safely treated, even with techniques to move those structures.
• You have previously had surgery or any other ablation treatment (such as heat, laser, alcohol, or microwave therapy) on the same tumor being studied.
• You have been diagnosed with a more aggressive or fast-growing type of thyroid cancer (other than papillary thyroid carcinoma).
• You are pregnant or breastfeeding when enrolling in the study.
• You have a condition that affects blood clotting, or you take blood-thinning medications that cannot be safely stopped before the procedure.
• You have a serious illness that is expected to significantly shorten your life expectancy (less than 5 years).
• You are unable to attend follow-up appointments or follow the study schedule, or you are not able to make your own medical decisions.
• You have an implanted electrical device in your body, such as a pacemaker or nerve stimulator.
• You have an active infection in your neck — including a skin infection or thyroid inflammation — at the time of the planned treatment.
• You have significant scarring or changes to the structure of your neck from previous neck surgery or radiation therapy that would make the procedure unsafe.
