Who might be able to join this trial:
- Males aged 5–30 who have been diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (a muscle-weakening condition), whether or not they are still able to walk
- Males aged 5–60 who have been diagnosed with Becker Muscular Dystrophy (a related muscle condition), confirmed by genetic testing, whether or not they are still able to walk
- Healthy males aged 5–60 with no muscle or nerve conditions and no injuries to their arms or legs (to serve as a comparison group)
Who may not be able to join:
- People with Duchenne or Becker Muscular Dystrophy who are unable to stay still for a physical examination
- People who have had a limb or body part removed (such as an amputation) where measurements would need to be taken
- People with Duchenne or Becker Muscular Dystrophy who have a cognitive or mental condition that prevents them from giving informed consent to participate
- Healthy comparison participants who have any condition that affects how their muscles work or function
- Healthy comparison participants who have a neuromuscular disease (a condition affecting nerves and muscles)
- Healthy comparison participants who have had an injury to their arms or legs within the past 5 years
