Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with glioblastoma (a type of brain tumor).
- You have been newly diagnosed and have not yet had any surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, or other treatment for this tumor.
- You are 18 years of age or older.
- You are able to carry out most daily activities and care for yourself — your doctor can assess this using a standard performance scale (confirm with trial site).
- Your liver, kidneys, and blood counts are within acceptable ranges as measured by recent blood tests (confirm with trial site).
- You agree to use reliable contraception (such as hormonal methods, barrier methods, or abstinence) before, during, and for 7 days after completing the treatment — this applies to all men and to women who could become pregnant.
- If you could become pregnant, this means you have not had your uterus or both ovaries removed, or have not gone through menopause for at least 12 consecutive months.
- You are able to understand the study information and are willing to sign a consent form agreeing to take part.
Who may not be able to join:
- You have received chemotherapy, radiation, or any other cancer treatment within the past 4 weeks.
- You have not yet fully recovered from side effects of a previous cancer treatment (with some exceptions — confirm with trial site).
- You are currently taking part in another clinical trial that is also testing a treatment for this cancer.
- Your brain tumor has spread from another part of the body (known as brain metastases).
- You have had a serious allergic or hypersensitivity reaction to a drug similar to Acetadote (the treatment used in this trial).
- You have an uncontrolled serious illness, such as an active infection, heart failure, unstable chest pain, irregular heartbeat, or a mental health condition that could make it difficult to follow the study requirements.
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding, due to potential risks to the baby.
