Who might be able to join this trial:

• You are in good general health and able to carry out daily activities with little or no difficulty (as measured by a standard health scale called ECOG, scored 0 or 1).
• You are expected to live for at least 12 weeks from the time of joining the trial.
• Your heart, liver, kidneys, and blood counts are working well enough to participate.
• You weigh more than 30 kg (about 66 pounds).

For people with a certain type of lung cancer (Stage III Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer, or NSCLC) — Part 1 only:

• Your lung cancer has been confirmed by a tissue or cell sample and is locally advanced, cannot be removed by surgery, and is Stage III.
• You have already received at least 2 rounds of a platinum-based chemotherapy treatment given at the same time as radiation therapy.
• Your cancer has not gotten worse after completing that combined chemotherapy and radiation treatment.

For people with a certain type of lung cancer (Limited-Stage Small Cell Lung Cancer, or LS-SCLC) — Part 1 only:

• Your small cell lung cancer has been confirmed by a tissue or cell sample and is at Stage I, II, or III.
• You have completed 4 rounds of chemotherapy given at the same time as radiotherapy, and this treatment was finished between 1 and 42 days before joining the trial.
• Your cancer has not gotten worse after completing that combined chemotherapy and radiation treatment.

For people with liver cancer that cannot be removed by surgery (Unresectable HCC) — Parts 1 and 2:

• Your liver cancer has been confirmed by a tissue sample and cannot be removed by surgery.
• You have not previously received any systemic (whole-body) treatment for your unresectable liver cancer.
• You are not a suitable candidate for localised treatments directed at the liver tumour.
• Your liver is still functioning reasonably well, as measured by a scoring system called Child-Pugh class A.
• You have at least one tumour that can be measured on a scan, following standard measurement guidelines.

Who may not be able to join:

• You have or have had an autoimmune disease (where the immune system attacks the body) that needed treatment with medicines affecting the whole body.
• You have an infection that is not under control, including HIV, hepatitis B, or hepatitis C.
• You have previously been treated with medicines called immune checkpoint inhibitors.

For people with Stage III Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) — Part 1 only:

• Your lung cancer is a mix of two types — small cell and non-small cell lung cancer.
• You currently have inflammation of the lungs (pneumonitis) or scarring/inflammation of lung tissue (interstitial lung disease) that requires whole-body medication.

For people with Limited-Stage Small Cell Lung Cancer (LS-SCLC) — Part 1 only:

• Your lung cancer is a mix of two types — small cell and non-small cell lung cancer.
• Your small cell lung cancer has spread beyond the limited stage (i.e., it is extensive-stage disease).
• You have a history of moderate or severe lung inflammation (Grade 2 or higher pneumonitis) (confirm with trial site).

For people with unresectable liver cancer (HCC) — Parts 1 and 2:

• You have a condition where toxins build up and affect brain function due to liver disease (hepatic encephalopathy).
• You have fluid build-up in the abdomen that is not under control (uncontrolled ascites).
• You are currently experiencing active bleeding in your digestive system.
