  • Adults between 18 and 65 years old who are already scheduled to have a type of weight-loss surgery called laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (a procedure that reduces the size of the stomach using keyhole surgery).

  • People who have already been diagnosed with another type of anaemia (low red blood cell count caused by something other than iron deficiency), such as thalassemia, vitamin B12 deficiency, folate deficiency, or anaemia related to a long-term illness.
  • People who have any other health condition that the trial doctor believes could interfere with taking part fully or could put the person at significant risk (confirm with trial site).
