Who might be able to join this trial:

• People who are between 14 and 18 years old
• People who currently live in Aguascalientes
• People whose urine tests show a moderate amount of protein leaking into the urine (a specific measurement called ACR, falling between 30 and 300 mg/g)
• People whose kidneys are filtering blood at a rate considered normal or only mildly reduced (an eGFR of 60 or above)
• People whose kidney condition does not appear to be caused by another disease such as lupus or diabetes
• People whose kidney tissue sample (taken during a biopsy) shows one of two specific patterns of kidney damage called adaptive podocytopathy or perihilar focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (confirm with trial site if unsure what these mean)

Who may not be able to join:

• People who have low levels of a protein called albumin in their blood (a condition called hypoalbuminemia)
• People who have nephrotic syndrome, a condition where the kidneys leak large amounts of protein and cause swelling and other symptoms
• People whose urine tests show a high level of protein leaking into the urine (an ACR above 300 mg/g)
• People whose kidney disease is caused by another condition, including kidney or urinary tract problems present from birth, or a condition called polycystic kidney disease
