Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have end-stage (terminal) kidney disease and are currently receiving hemodialysis (a machine that filters the blood)
- People who have recently been admitted to hospital for a sudden or serious medical event
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have dementia or significant memory and thinking difficulties (based on a standard mental assessment score below 20 out of 30)
- People who have an active or unstable psychiatric condition or significant behavioural difficulties

- People whose kidney function has recovered enough that hemodialysis is no longer needed
- People who are scheduled for neurological rehabilitation (rehabilitation related to the brain or nervous system)

- People who have active inflammation of the heart muscle, the sac around the heart, or the heart valves
- People who have a recent tear in the wall of the main blood vessel leading from the heart (aortic dissection)
- People who have a blood clot inside the heart that carries a high risk of travelling elsewhere in the body
- People who have a significant narrowing of a major coronary artery (the common trunk)
- People who have a bulging or weakened area in a heart chamber (ventricular aneurysm)
- People who have a fast irregular heart rhythm originating in the upper chambers of the heart that is not well controlled, or a high-degree or complete blockage of the heart's electrical signals
- People who have a type of heart muscle thickening that causes a significant blockage to blood flow at rest
- People who have recently had a stroke or a brief stroke-like episode (TIA)
- People who have a recent blood clot in a vein, with or without a clot in the lungs
- People whose overall health condition is poorly controlled, such as severe anaemia, significant abnormalities in blood salt levels, or an overactive thyroid gland
- People who are unable or unwilling to cooperate with the study requirements
- People whose blood pressure is above 200/110 mmHg
