Who might be able to join this trial:
For cancer survivors:
- People aged 18 or older
- People who have been diagnosed with stage IV (metastatic) breast cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, or melanoma
- People who are able to carry out basic day-to-day activities on their own
- People who are aware of who they are, where they are, and what time/date it is (as assessed by the recruiting team)
- People who can speak and understand English or Spanish
- People who have access to a telephone
- People who have a caregiver in their life — such as a spouse, sibling, parent, or friend — who is also able to participate
For caregivers:
- People aged 18 or older
- People who can speak and understand English or Spanish
- People who have access to a telephone
- People who are not currently being treated for cancer themselves
Who may not be able to join:
- People who live in a nursing home or residential care facility
- People who are bedridden and unable to get up
- People who are currently receiving hospice care
- People who are already taking part in another program focused on managing symptoms
