Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged between 3 and 18 years old who are suspected of having a brain or spinal cord tumour and are scheduled to have brain or spinal surgery.
- People who have not taken antibiotics or probiotics for a long period of time in the three months before samples are collected for the study.

Who may not be able to join:
- People with a personal history of long-term inflammatory bowel conditions (such as colitis, Crohn's disease, or ulcerative colitis) or certain digestive or intestinal conditions present from birth or developed later (such as coeliac disease, diverticulitis, peritonitis, Hirschsprung's disease, short bowel syndrome, intestinal malrotation or duplication, intestinal blockages, omphalocele, a stoma, or recent severe gastroenteritis).
- People who have previously received treatments related to cancer (such as chemotherapy or radiation) (confirm with trial site).
- People whose brain tumour diagnosis has not been confirmed by laboratory analysis of tissue removed during surgery — this means the diagnosis must be verified after the operation before this criterion can be fully assessed (confirm with trial site).
