Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who weigh at least 55 kilograms and have a body mass index (BMI) between 19.0 and 40.0
- People who have no significant history of low blood sugar episodes that happened on their own or were caused by alcohol
For Group 1 only — additional criteria that may apply:
- People who are generally healthy, with no major medical concerns found during a health check, and whose kidneys are working well (at a normal filtering level)
- People whose HbA1c blood sugar average reading is 6.5% or below at the screening visit
For Groups 2 and 3 only — additional criteria that may apply:
- People who have severely reduced kidney function or kidney failure and have been on a stable regular dialysis (haemodialysis) schedule for at least 3 months before the planned study dose
- People with acceptable blood pressure and heart rate readings
- People with Type 2 diabetes whose HbA1c blood sugar average reading is 10.0% or below at the screening visit
Who may not be able to join:
- People with a history of long-term liver disease, hepatitis (including autoimmune hepatitis), or any signs of liver problems
- People who currently have a working transplanted organ (a non-functioning kidney transplant may be considered — confirm with trial site)
- People with significant heart, lung, liver, kidney, digestive, hormonal, blood, skin, or nervous system conditions that could affect how the body processes the study drug, pose a safety risk, or make results harder to interpret
For Groups 2 and 3 only:
- People who are currently on continuous haemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis
- People who have been taking a medication for their kidney condition that has not been at a stable dose for at least 7 days before the study drug is given
