Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 18 years or older
- People who are receiving a single-session type of targeted radiation treatment called stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT)
- People with an early-stage lung cancer (non-small cell lung cancer, stages T1-2 N0 M0) or people with a small number of tumours that have spread to the lung from elsewhere (no more than 3 such tumours)
- People whose tumour cannot be removed by surgery, or who have chosen not to have surgery
- People whose tumour measures 3 cm or smaller
- People whose tumour is located in an outer part of the lung, at a specific distance away from the central airways and lung wall (confirm with trial site for exact measurements)
- People whose cancer has either been confirmed by a tissue sample (biopsy) or identified through scans such as a CT scan and PET scan
- People with a general health and activity level rated between 0 and 2 on a standard medical scale, meaning they are able to carry out daily activities with little to no limitation
- People who are willing and able to attend scheduled visits and follow the study procedures
- People who have signed a written consent form agreeing to take part
- People who are covered by a French health insurance plan
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose tumour has grown into the lining of the lung (pleura) or the central chest area (mediastinum)
- People who currently have a lung infection (pneumonia) or inflammation around the heart (pericarditis)
- People who have previously had radiation treatment to the same area of the body being targeted in this trial
- People who have received pre-treatment (such as chemotherapy before the main treatment) for their current cancer
- People with substance use issues, or medical, psychological, or social circumstances that could affect their ability to take part or affect the study results
- People who are under a legal guardianship or similar form of legal protection (confirm with trial site)
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who are currently taking part in another clinical trial, or who have done so within the last 30 days
- People whose life expectancy is estimated to be less than 6 months
