  • People who have a current injury, or had an injury within the last 6 months, that may affect their ability to do resistance exercise
  • People who have done resistance training consistently in the past (more than 10 sessions per year)
  • People who have taken medication or supplements known to affect muscle function or muscle mass within the last 6 months
  • People who currently smoke, or who have smoked within the last 6 months
  • People who are currently on hormone replacement therapy (HRT)
