Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You have been diagnosed by an outpatient psychiatrist with an emotional disorder, such as depression, generalized anxiety, panic disorder, agoraphobia, social anxiety, OCD, PTSD, or an eating disorder like anorexia or bulimia.
  • Your symptoms are above a certain level of severity, as measured by a standard questionnaire about depression (PHQ-9 score of 10 or higher) or anxiety (GAD-7 score of 8 or higher).

Who may not be able to join:

  • You currently have a diagnosis of a psychotic disorder or bipolar disorder.
  • You currently have certain other mental health conditions, including organic brain disorders, severe cognitive impairment, pervasive developmental disorders, or a substance use disorder.
  • You are currently considered to be at risk of suicide, based on a specific question in a standard depression questionnaire (confirm with trial site).
  • You have a diagnosis of antisocial personality disorder.
  • You have a serious physical health condition that could affect your ability to take part in the study, or that has recently required a hospital stay.
  • You have previously completed a full 8-week structured mindfulness course.
  • You do not have access to the internet.
