Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 years or older
- People who are able and willing to provide written consent to participate
- People who are scheduled to have a specific type of lung surgery (called VATS lobectomy) to remove an upper or lower lobe of the lung for non-small cell lung cancer
- People whose planned surgery will be performed using a minimally invasive keyhole approach through the chest wall
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have received chemotherapy combined with radiation therapy, or chemotherapy combined with immunotherapy, before surgery
- People with severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (a serious long-term lung condition), rated at a high severity level known as GOLD stage 3 or above
- People whose planned surgery involves more complex removal techniques, such as removing part of an airway, or extending the operation to affect other lobes, the chest wall, or the sac around the heart
- People who have a known intolerance or allergy to albumin (a protein found in blood)
- People who have reduced kidney function
- People who have previously had surgery on the same area being operated on
- People whose surgery is expected to involve the use of tissue sealants or adhesives other than the specific one being studied in the trial
- People who are expected to have extensive internal scarring or tissue sticking together (adhesions) in the chest cavity
- People whose surgery involves the middle lobe of the lung
