Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 13 years old or older
- You can be of any gender
- You are currently on long-term peritoneal dialysis (a type of kidney treatment done through the abdomen)
- Your kidneys still produce at least 150 ml of urine per day (roughly half a cup or more)
Who may not be able to join:
- You are younger than 13 years old
- You have Type 1 diabetes
- You have frequent or recurring urinary tract infections (UTIs) or problems with blood circulation in your legs or feet
- Your kidneys produce less than 150 ml of urine per day
- You have recurring episodes of very low blood sugar (hypoglycemia)
- You have any form of liver disease, whether recent or long-term
- You do not wish to take part in the study
- You have had an infection around your peritoneal dialysis tube (catheter) in the last 3 months
