Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 or older
- People with a body mass index (BMI) between 28.0 and 45.0 kg/m² due to simple obesity (not caused by another medical condition)
- People who are able and willing to sign a consent form agreeing to take part
Who may not be able to join:
- People with active tuberculosis, HIV, cancer, or other serious infections or systemic illnesses
- People with severely reduced liver function (based on specific blood test results) or severely reduced kidney function, including end-stage kidney disease
- People who have had serious heart problems — such as a heart attack, stroke, or chest pain from heart disease — within the past 6 months
- People with serious digestive tract diseases, or who have had surgery to remove part of the digestive tract within the past year
- People with a history of pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas), gallbladder disease, or pancreatic injury
- People whose obesity is caused by another medical condition, such as a hormone disorder, or by medications such as antipsychotics or steroids
- People who currently smoke or who have smoked regularly in the past 3 months
- People currently using weight-loss medications, or who have previously had weight-loss surgery
- People who have been diagnosed with diabetes or who currently take medication to lower blood sugar
- Women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant during the study
- People who are unable to complete 2 years of follow-up visits due to health, relocation, or other reasons
- People whom the trial doctor considers unsuitable for any other reason (confirm with trial site)
