Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have long-term pelvic pain (lasting a long time, not just occasionally)
- Your doctor has diagnosed you with likely endometriosis based on an examination or scan, and you are already scheduled to have a keyhole surgery (laparoscopy) to confirm this within the next four months
Who may not be able to join:
- You are unable to give your consent to take part, or you do not wish to give consent
- You are currently trying to get pregnant, are pregnant, or are breastfeeding
- You have gone through menopause (no periods for more than 12 months and not taking hormonal treatments to manage this, or have had both ovaries removed)
- You have previously had a hysterectomy (surgery to remove the womb)
- You have been diagnosed with, or there is a suspicion of, cancer in your pelvis
- You cannot have an MRI scan — for example, because you have metal implants in your body, a medical device implanted, or you experience severe claustrophobia (fear of enclosed spaces)
- You cannot take a medication called Buscopan — for example, if you have glaucoma, heart problems, an irregular heartbeat, a muscle condition called myasthenia, or have had a bad reaction to Buscopan before (confirm with trial site)
- You are currently taking part in another clinical drug trial or certain other interventional research studies (confirm with trial site)
- You have previously had a severe infection of the pelvic organs (severe pelvic inflammatory disease)
- You have previously had peritonitis (a serious infection or inflammation inside the abdomen)
