Who might be able to join this trial:

• You have been diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer (a specific type of lung cancer) that is at an advanced stage (stage IIIB, IIIC, or IV) and cannot be treated with the goal of a cure.
• You are 18 years of age or older and have signed a consent form agreeing to take part.
• You are reasonably active and able to care for yourself (not bedridden most of the day), your doctors expect you to live for more than 6 months, and the study team considers you suitable for a procedure called microwave ablation (a heat-based treatment targeting tumours).
• You have already received a first course of treatment ("first-line treatment") using a medicine called tislelizumab combined with chemotherapy, and your cancer has been shown on scans to have gotten worse — and this worsening happened at least 6 months after you started that treatment.
• Your blood counts are at acceptable levels, meaning your body is producing enough white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets (confirm specific numbers with trial site).
• Your liver is working well enough, shown by blood test results within acceptable ranges (confirm with trial site).
• Your kidneys are working well enough, shown by blood and urine test results within acceptable ranges (confirm with trial site).
• Your blood clotting ability is within acceptable limits, shown by specific blood test results (confirm with trial site).
• Your heart is pumping strongly enough — specifically, a heart scan shows your heart is working at 50% efficiency or above.
• You are able to communicate with the study team and are willing and able to attend all required visits, tests, and follow-up appointments.

Who may not be able to join:

• You have been diagnosed with small cell lung cancer, or a mixed type of lung cancer that includes small cell lung cancer.
• You have brain metastases (cancer that has spread to the brain) that are causing symptoms at the time treatment would start.
• You are currently taking part in another clinical trial for cancer treatment.
• You have had a serious problem with your food pipe or digestive system — such as a hole, a fistula (an abnormal connection between organs), or an abscess (a pocket of infection) — within the past 6 months.
• You have had a serious heart or brain blood vessel problem within the past 6 months, such as a stroke, mini-stroke, heart attack, or dangerous blood clots; or you currently have unstable chest pain (angina), moderate-to-severe heart failure, or certain abnormal heart rhythms or electrical patterns detected on a heart tracing (confirm details with trial site).
• You have had a major operation within the 4 weeks before joining the study, or you are planning to have major surgery during the study.
• You have a tendency to bleed easily, a history of blood clots within the past 6 months, or you have coughed up a significant amount of blood within the past 3 months.
• You have wounds that have not healed, active stomach or gut ulcers, or a bone fracture that has not healed.
• You have a known allergy or sensitivity to the medicine tislelizumab or any of its ingredients.
• You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding.
• You are a woman who could become pregnant, or a man, and you are not willing to use reliable contraception during the study and for 6 months after the last dose of treatment.
• The study doctor believes there is any other reason that makes it unsafe or unsuitable for you to take part.
