Who might be able to join this trial:
- Children who are between 7 years old and 11 years and 11 months old
- Children who have been officially diagnosed with ADHD by a qualified child psychiatrist
- Children who scored above 85 on a standard IQ test called the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children
- Children who have been recently diagnosed with ADHD (within the last month) or who have not taken any ADHD medication for at least 4 weeks
- A parent or guardian must agree to participate and give written permission, and the child must also agree to take part
Who may not be able to join:
- Children who have a hearing or vision problem or condition
- Children who are unable to use computer software for any reason, such as color blindness, difficulty using their hands, or another disability
- Children who have also been diagnosed with oppositional defiant disorder, autism spectrum disorder, a developmental disorder, tic disorders, or other similar conditions
- Children who have another mental health condition such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or certain brain-related disorders
- Children whose attention difficulties are caused by a neurological or physical health condition rather than ADHD itself
- Children who have previously tried ADHD medication regularly as prescribed by a doctor but found it did not work
- Children who currently have or have previously had a gaming addiction
- Children who have previously tried a brain-training type of treatment that uses brain signals to control a game (confirm with trial site)
- Children who have previously had a physical brain stimulation treatment, such as magnetic stimulation therapy
