Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who have been diagnosed with a specific type of cancer called squamous cell carcinoma in the mouth, throat, voice box, or lower throat area, at any stage (T1–T4), and whose cancer has at least one of these features: cancer found in nearby lymph nodes, cancer growing along nerves, cancer found in blood or lymph vessels, or surgical margins that were very close to the cancer but not clearly affected

  • People whose surgery showed cancer at the edges of the removed tissue (positive margins) or cancer that has spread beyond the lymph node capsule
  • People whose cancer is at an early stage (T1–T2), has not spread to lymph nodes, and does not have any of the specific risk features listed above
  • People who have received or are receiving chemotherapy given before or at the same time as other treatments
  • People whose cancer is not of the squamous cell type
  • People whose cancer has spread to other parts of the body beyond the head and neck
  • People who have another active cancer at the same time, outside of the mouth, throat, voice box, or lower throat area
  • People who are pregnant or currently breastfeeding
  • People who have previously had radiation treatment to the head or neck area
