Who might be able to join this trial:

• People who are male and have been diagnosed with an enlarged prostate (a condition called BPH)
• People who have been diagnosed with BPH and are experiencing bothersome urinary symptoms
• People whose urinary symptom score is 20 or higher on a standard questionnaire, meaning symptoms are classed as severe
• People whose urine flow rate is very slow — specifically 10 mL per second or less when measured during a flow test
• People whose prostate has been measured (by an internal ultrasound scan) and found to be larger than 100 mL in size
• People whose symptoms have not improved with medication and who have been assessed as suitable for surgery

Who may not be able to join:

• People who currently have, or have previously had, prostate cancer
• People who have had previous surgery on the prostate
• People who have had previous surgery on the urethra (the tube that carries urine out of the body)
• People whose bladder does not function properly due to a nerve or neurological condition
• People who currently have an active urinary tract infection
• People with very severe heart or cardiovascular disease (confirm with trial site)
• People who have previously had radiation therapy to the pelvic area
• People who have a narrowing or blockage in the urethra
• People who have bladder stones
