Who might be able to join this trial:

• You are willing to take part and are happy to sign a consent form agreeing to participate
• You are between 18 and 75 years old (any gender)
• You have been diagnosed through a tissue or cell sample with a specific type of lung cancer (non-small cell lung cancer) that is at an advanced, spread, or returned stage, and cannot be treated with surgery or a combination of chemotherapy and radiation
• You have not previously received any systemic (whole-body) cancer drug treatment for your advanced or spread disease, and your lung cancer has a specific gene change (EGFR mutation — either "exon 19 deletion" or "exon 21 L858R") confirmed by a tissue or cell sample
• A central laboratory has confirmed that your cancer cells show high levels of a protein called PD-L1 (a score of 50% or more)
• You have at least one measurable area of cancer that can be tracked using standard imaging guidelines
• If you have cancer that has spread to the brain, it must either be causing no symptoms or have already been treated and be stable
• You are generally well enough to carry out light activity and care for yourself (confirmed by a standard health scale called ECOG, scored 0 or 1)
• Your doctor expects you to live for at least 3 more months
• Your liver, kidneys, and other organs are working well enough (confirm with trial site)

Who may not be able to join:

• Your lung cancer is a type called small cell lung cancer, or a mix of small cell and non-small cell lung cancer
• You have previously been treated with a type of targeted drug called an EGFR-TKI or MET-TKI
• Your cancer has certain other gene changes known as ALK fusion or ROS1 fusion
• You currently have another active cancer (with some exceptions, such as certain skin cancers or cancers fully treated with no return for 3 or more years)
• You have had a major operation within the last 4 weeks before starting the trial (some specific surgeries have shorter waiting periods — confirm with trial site)
• You are taking, or recently took, certain strong medications that affect how the body processes drugs (called strong CYP3A4 inhibitors or inducers) (confirm with trial site)
• You have other serious health conditions that are not well controlled
• You have certain heart problems, including an abnormal heart rhythm reading, poor heart pumping function, or significant heart failure symptoms
• You have trouble swallowing, a serious digestive condition, or have had major stomach or bowel surgery that could affect how your body absorbs medication
• You have a history of pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas) or have had surgery on your pancreas
• The trial doctor has decided for any other reason that taking part would not be right for you
