Who might be able to join this trial:

• People whose HbA1c blood sugar level (a measure of average blood sugar over time) was below 6.5% at the initial screening appointment.
• People with a body mass index (a measure of body weight relative to height) between 25 and 45 kg/m².
• People whose body weight has been stable, changing by less than 5%, in the 3 months before screening.
• People of any sex assigned at birth, including those who are or are not able to become pregnant, may be considered for this trial.

Who may not be able to join:

• People who have type 1 or type 2 diabetes, a history of diabetic ketoacidosis, or a history of a dangerous high blood sugar emergency (hyperosmolar state or coma). Note: people with a history of gestational diabetes (diabetes during pregnancy) are still considered eligible.
• People who have had, or currently have, inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis).
• People who have a known significant problem with how their stomach empties food, or who regularly take medications that significantly affect how their digestive system moves food through.
• People who have had, or are planning to have, surgery to treat obesity. Exceptions may apply for certain cosmetic procedures (liposuction, cryolipolysis, or abdominoplasty) if they took place more than 1 year before screening (confirm with trial site).
• People who are not willing to follow the lifestyle and dietary rules required during the study.
• People who were assigned female at birth and are currently breastfeeding.
• People who were assigned female at birth and are currently pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or planning to breastfeed during the study, or people assigned male at birth who are planning to conceive a child during the study.
