Who might be able to join this trial:

• People who have been diagnosed with a lung condition called IPF (idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis), confirmed by a doctor using established international guidelines.
• People who have had a persistent cough lasting 8 weeks or longer before their screening appointment.
• People whose cough severity scores at least a 2 out of a standard rating scale at screening (confirm with trial site).
• People whose lungs are functioning at 40% or more of the expected capacity for someone of their age and size, based on a breathing test called FVC.
• People whose lungs are able to transfer oxygen into the blood at 25% or more of the expected level, based on a test called DLCO, measured at screening or within the 12 weeks before screening.
• People who are already taking certain IPF medications (such as nintedanib, pirfenidone, or nerandomilast) must have been on a stable, unchanged dose for at least 6 weeks before the first study visit.

Who may not be able to join:

• People who have had, or are suspected of having, a respiratory tract infection (such as a chest or throat infection) in the 8 weeks before or during screening.
• People who have been hospitalised for any breathing-related illness, including a sudden worsening of IPF, within 2 months before screening.
• People who have been diagnosed with sleep apnea or who are currently receiving any treatment for sleep apnea, such as a CPAP machine.
