Who might be able to join this trial:

• Imaging results (such as a CT scan) show a lung nodule, growth, or suspected tumour in the lung.
• The person is already scheduled to have lung surgery, such as removal of a small section, segment, or lobe of the lung.
• A fresh sample of lung tissue can be collected during the surgery for use with a special laser imaging technique.
• A quick tissue analysis (called a frozen section) is planned during the surgery to help assess the tissue.
• A standard detailed tissue analysis (using paraffin-embedded pathology) can be carried out after surgery.
• The person, or their legally authorised representative, has signed a consent form agreeing to take part.

Who may not be able to join:

• The tissue sample collected during surgery is too small to be used for both standard clinical testing and the research procedures at the same time.
• The tissue sample is too damaged — for example, due to burning, decay, crushing, contamination, or poor storage — and the investigator determines that useful imaging cannot be done.
• The laser-imaged tissue sample cannot be matched to the same area of tissue examined in the final detailed pathology report.
• A final detailed pathology report (paraffin-embedded) cannot be obtained after surgery.
• The person withdraws their consent to take part.
• The investigator determines, for any other reason, that the person is not suitable for this study.
