Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 18 years or older.
- People with a BMI of 40 or above, or a BMI of 35 or above with health conditions related to obesity, or a BMI of 30 or above with disordered or problematic eating behaviours.
- People who are already enrolled in a medical or weight management care program at the Institut de l'Obésité, Clinique ELSAN Saint-Omer, which includes health education and adapted physical activity.
- People who are available and willing to attend all planned study visits and follow-up appointments throughout the trial.
- People who have given written consent to participate after being fully informed about the study.
- People who are members of the French social security system.
Who may not be able to join:
- People with serious medical reasons that make adapted physical activity or group sessions unsafe, such as an unstable heart condition or severe movement limitations.
- People with serious psychiatric conditions or severe unstable eating disorders that would prevent safe participation in group sessions or suitability for weight-loss surgery assessment.
- People with significant cognitive or neurological difficulties that would prevent them from understanding instructions or completing study assessments.
- People whose medical treatment is currently unstable or has been recently changed in a way that could significantly affect body weight, energy levels, or mental health.
- People who are unable to complete the full study, for example due to extended unavailability or a planned move away from the region.
- People who are unable or unwilling to provide written informed consent.
- People who face major practical barriers to reaching the intervention site that cannot be reasonably resolved.
- People who have already been participating in a structured adapted physical activity program within the three months before joining the trial.
