Who might be able to join this trial:

  • Adults aged 18 or older of any gender
  • People who have been formally diagnosed with one of the following: Tourette Syndrome, Persistent Motor or Vocal Tic Disorder, Provisional Tic Disorder, Other Specified Tic Disorder, or Unspecified Tic Disorder
  • People with a diagnosis of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • People currently taking psychiatric or mental health medications, provided the type and dose stay the same throughout the study
  • People who are able to give ongoing informed consent to participate
  • People whose OCD symptoms score at least 16 on a standard clinical rating scale called the YBOCS (confirm with trial site for details on how this is measured)
  • People whose tic-related urges score at least 5 on a scale called the Premonitory Urge for Tics Scale, or PUTS (confirm with trial site for details on how this is measured)

Who may not be able to join:

  • People with a current substance misuse problem
  • People who currently have a diagnosed personality disorder
  • People diagnosed with schizophrenia
  • People diagnosed with bipolar disorder
  • People who are currently experiencing active thoughts of suicide
  • People who require an interpreter to communicate
  • People with any other psychiatric or neurological condition that the trial investigators believe could interfere with taking part or with understanding the results
