Who might be able to join this trial:

• You must be willing to sign a consent form to take part in the study
• You must be able to have up to 60 ml of blood drawn (about 4 tablespoons) without it being a health risk for you
• You must be 18 years old or older
• You must be willing to collect 1 to 2 stool samples and complete a stool blood test (called a FIT test)
• Nursing mothers who meet all other requirements may be able to join
• You must fall into one of these groups: you have colorectal cancer that has not yet been treated; you have a confirmed non-cancerous colon growth (adenoma) currently in your colon; you are at higher risk due to a past history of colon growths or colorectal cancer (more than 3 years ago), a close family member (parent, sibling, or child) who has had colorectal cancer, or a recent positive stool screening test with no follow-up yet; or you have no personal or family history of colorectal cancer or growths and are considered average risk
• People who had colorectal cancer that was successfully treated at least 3 years ago may also be eligible depending on their current situation (confirm with trial site)
• People whose colonoscopy found certain non-cancerous polyp types (such as hyperplastic polyps, lipomas, or inflammatory polyps) may also qualify depending on other criteria (confirm with trial site)

Who may not be able to join:

• You cannot join if you have already had surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy for your current colorectal cancer before your stool samples are collected
• You cannot join if you have been diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis), whether currently active or in your past medical history
• You cannot join if you have a known inherited colorectal cancer condition called HNPCC (Lynch syndrome) or FAP (confirm with trial site if unsure)
• You cannot join if you are unable to understand or agree to the consent form
• You cannot join if you have had another active cancer within the last 3 years, unless it was a specific type of skin cancer, an early-stage cervical cancer treated with surgery only, or an early-stage uterine cancer treated with surgery (confirm with trial site for details)
• You cannot join if you are currently receiving chemotherapy or radiation treatment for any reason
• You cannot join if you are known to have HIV or chronic active viral hepatitis
• You cannot join if you are currently pregnant
