- You have been diagnosed with Giant Cell Arteritis (GCA) — a condition affecting blood vessels in the head — and were over 50 years old when symptoms began, along with certain signs such as new head pain, a tender or weak pulse in the temple artery, abnormal blood test results, or an abnormal artery biopsy or scan
- You have been diagnosed with Takayasu's Arteritis — a condition affecting large blood vessels — and were under 50 years old when symptoms began, along with signs such as weakness or pain in the arms or legs, differences in blood pressure between arms, or abnormal blood vessel scans
- You have been diagnosed with Polyarteritis Nodosa (PAN), either affecting internal organs/blood vessels or limited to the skin, with certain symptoms or test results (such as abnormal scans, nerve problems, skin changes, or a positive skin biopsy) that your doctor believes are caused by blood vessel inflammation (confirm with trial site for full criteria details)
- You have been diagnosed with Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (GPA) or Microscopic Polyangiitis (MPA) — conditions causing blood vessel inflammation — and meet certain specific diagnostic tests or findings, such as nasal or mouth sores, abnormal chest scans, abnormal urine, positive ANCA blood test, or specific biopsy results (confirm with trial site)
- You have been diagnosed with Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (also called Churg-Strauss syndrome), and have at least 4 of 6 specific features including asthma, high levels of a certain white blood cell type, nerve problems, lung changes on scans, sinus problems, or abnormal biopsy results
Who may not be able to join:
- You are unable to understand and sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the study
- You are already enrolled in certain related research studies (specifically VCRC studies numbered 5502, 5503, 5504, 5505, 5506, 5522, or 5523)
- You are not willing to provide a blood sample for DNA collection
