Who might be able to join this trial:

People with schizophrenia or a related condition:

• People who have been formally diagnosed with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder (based on standard diagnostic guidelines known as DSM-IV-TR)
• People who are able to understand and agree to take part in the study on their own
• People of any race or ethnicity
• People whose vision is at least 20-40, whether naturally or with glasses or contact lenses
• People who can read, speak, and understand English

Healthy volunteers (no mental illness):

• People with no past or current serious mental health conditions
• People of any race or ethnicity
• People whose vision is at least 20-40, whether naturally or with glasses or contact lenses
• People who can read, speak, and understand English

Who may not be able to join:

People with schizophrenia or a related condition:

• People who have been diagnosed with a brain disease caused by a physical or medical condition
• People who have had a problem with alcohol or drug misuse in the past month, or alcohol or drug dependence in the past three months
• People who have a serious or unstable physical health condition
• People with a history of a serious head injury
• People who are pregnant

Healthy volunteers:

• People who have a history of any psychiatric (mental health) illness
• People who are currently using mind-altering drugs (not including nicotine or caffeine)
• People who have been diagnosed with a brain disease caused by a physical or medical condition
• People who have a serious or unstable physical health condition
• People with a history of a serious head injury
• People who are pregnant
