Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who carry the gene mutation that causes Huntington's disease (HD), either with or without symptoms
- People who carry the HD gene mutation and have symptoms that a doctor considers consistent with HD
- People who carry the HD gene mutation but do not yet have symptoms that a doctor considers consistent with HD
- Blood relatives (parents, children, siblings, grandparents, aunts/uncles) of someone with HD, who have not been tested to find out if they carry the gene
- Blood relatives of someone with HD who have been tested and confirmed NOT to carry the HD gene mutation
- Spouses, partners, caregivers, or other non-blood-related family members of someone with HD
- People who have no connection to HD and did not grow up in a family affected by HD (these participants help provide comparison data)
- People under 18 may be able to join if they have a childhood-onset form of HD
Who may not be able to join:
- Anyone who does not meet the conditions listed above
- People who have involuntary, jerky movements (similar to HD symptoms) but have tested negative for the HD gene mutation
- People signing up as unrelated comparison participants who have a major brain or nervous system condition, such as a stroke, Parkinson's disease, or multiple sclerosis
