Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with Crohn's Disease (CD), meaning a doctor has confirmed at least 2 of the following: a history of symptoms such as abdominal pain, weight loss, tiredness, diarrhoea, or rectal bleeding; camera examination of the bowel showing specific patterns of inflammation or ulcers; imaging scans showing narrowing, abnormal connections between organs, or ulceration; findings during surgery showing thickened bowel wall or enlarged nearby lymph nodes; or biopsy results showing deep inflammation or specific tissue changes — and these findings must have been present for at least 2 months.
- People who have been diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis (UC), meaning a doctor has confirmed all 3 of the following: a typical history of diarrhoea, or blood and pus in the stool, lasting longer than 4 weeks; bowel camera examination or imaging showing a continuous pattern of inflammation or ulceration without skipped areas; and biopsy results showing characteristic signs of inflammation.
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) cannot be clearly classified as either Crohn's Disease or Ulcerative Colitis.
- People who are not of Korean ethnic background.
