Who might be able to join this trial:
For stroke survivors:
- People who had a stroke at least 3 months ago (sub-acute) or at least 6 months ago (chronic)
- People with a score above 24 out of 30 on a standard memory and thinking test, indicating normal cognitive ability
- People with mild to moderate disability after stroke, as measured by a standard disability scale (Modified Rankin Scale score of 2–4)
- People with little to no muscle stiffness in their limbs, as measured by a standard spasticity scale (score of 2 or less out of 4)
- People with no skin problems or wounds
- People whose hips, knees, and ankles can move through a sufficient range of motion (specific angles required — confirm with trial site)
- People who are able to stand with a walking aid for at least 5 minutes and walk at least 10 metres with a walking aid, with no medical reasons preventing standing or walking
For healthy participants with no disability:
- People aged 18 to 75 years
- People who are able to understand and sign a consent form
Who may not be able to join:
For stroke survivors:
- People with severe difficulties with thinking or vision
- People with hemineglect (a condition after stroke where one side of the world is not noticed or attended to)
- People with severe loss of sensation
- People with stiff or fixed joints in any limb that limit normal movement during walking with a walking aid
- People with skin sores or wounds that could prevent the exoskeleton (robotic walking device) from being worn
- People with uncontrolled chest pain (angina)
- People with severe chronic lung disease
- People with other medical conditions that would prevent standard rehabilitation (confirm with trial site)
For healthy participants:
- People with a history of any neurological, neuromuscular, or physical disability
