Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are a man or woman between 18 and 60 years old who has been diagnosed with asthma
- You have smoked very little in your life — no more than 1 pack of cigarettes per year
- You are willing to take part in the study and are able to sign a consent form to confirm this
- You are generally in stable health based on your medical history
- You are able to do consistent, repeatable breathing tests (where your results are very close each time you try)
- Your lung function is at a reasonable level — specifically, a breathing test result above 60% of what is expected for someone your age and size (confirm with trial site)
Who may not be able to join:
- You are unable to understand the study information, cannot give your own consent to take part, or cannot read the written materials provided
- You are unable to perform the required breathing tests
- You have any metal implants or devices in your body that cannot be removed, such as a pacemaker, neurostimulator, insulin pump, aneurysm clip, artificial limb, surgical staples, metal fragments, or ear implants — as these may not be safe in an MRI scanner
- You have any physical or mental condition, such as severe fear of enclosed spaces (claustrophobia), that might make it difficult or unsafe for you to have an MRI scan
- You are currently pregnant
